Artist and Founder, Starving Artist Opportunities
Conor Rush is an Artist and Founder of Starving Artist Opportunities. Rush founded Starving Artists in 2022 after finishing his MA in Creative Practice at Leeds University. There he spent two years focusing on artistic facilitation without walls, and walking about. Since launching, Conor has been a finalist in the 2023 Deutsche Bank Awards for Creative Entrepreneurs and started judging for BeStill.Media, an international art award based in the states, and NoPlaceArt a new annual award show and exhibition in London.
Also an Artist himself Conor has a passion for rusty metal, our relationship to land and the (pre)history of why we started making in the first place. Finely tuned from artist residencies, specifically in Dartmoor and the mountain village of Lozio, Italy, Conor’s interest in supporting artists stems from his own struggles finding suitable opportunities and seeing the difference that perfect opportunity can make to an Artists career. Having benefited from lots of support, Conor’s determined to keep passing it forward, helping as many artists as possible, for years to come.
